5.8 engine. Vehicle surges at 1,500 to 2,000 rpm.

in 1995 The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP) is located on the A/C evaporator case on your vehicle. It has an electrical connector and a vacuum line connected to it.

There is no MAP sensor on a 1996 Ford Bronco 5.8L (or 5.0L). 1996 was the first year of OBD II and barometric pressure is inferred (calculated) by the PCM with inputs from the MAF, IAT and ECT sensors (and not a MAP or BAP).

Looked your issue up in "Prodemand"

Cannot find a "map" on a 5.8 (looks like they are only on larger engines)

Instead, it says you have a "MAF" (mass airflow)

It is located in your air cleaner!

Well, I have not replaced the MAF sensor. I am having hesitation issues and I have done a number of things. Changed wires, plugs, cap, rotor, ignition coil, dpfe sensor and I still have hesitation and when I get up to 25-30 mph the whole truck starts to shack really bad. I do not know what else to do. Please give me some advice I really need help.

Have you scanned for codes?

The codes might steer you in the right direction.

Most popular auto parts stores will "code" you for free.

Codes might be interpreted different ways. That is why we would like you to return with the "actual code numbers" (example p0125). Not what they might mean or pertain to, as per the auto parts store person.

There may be more than one code show, so copy all of the numbers.

Meaning vehicle came without one?

You have one, it is not on?

When you crank the vehicle, does the check engine light come on for a few seconds verifying that it works and is not burned out?

If last line above means it is there but does not work, take it to have it scanned, as you do not know if it should be on or not.

I have a check light and it works fine. I had a couple scams done before. It is just not throwing any codes and the codes it did throw I got fixed.

It is located next to the firewall on the passenger side of the vehicle directly under the hood, sitting above the intake just to the left.

Clean the MAF with "mass airflow cleaner" or brake cleaner.

Let it dry completely before you reinstall it.
