It's a 3.5, the spring is towards the engine,Heads were not removed,
Seems to be good circulation as far as I can tell, with the temp sensor removed its pumping out good.I have a new water pump, and radiator.

May have exhaust gas entering water jacket. You can take it and have coolant tested for CO2 and HC or can buy block tester at NAPA for @$30.
Assuming cooling fans operating?

Fans working good, what is happening is as soon as the thermostat opens all the water is going the worng way, instead of going thru the radiator it's backing up,It acts like there is still air in the system,Now I have new problem durning all this time working on the coolent system I ran it out of gas,put in more, got fuel pressure, But no fire to the plugs,Frustrated,I dont know what to check first, mabe cam sensor I had it out a few times.Any words of encouragement sure would be helpful.

I figure it out this is what I did you are welcome to pass this on if anybody else has a problem with a dodge close coolant system,With everything full, cap no,bring it up to temp.shut it off walk away let it cool down all the way,two to three hours,do not remove cap,Before starting the second time check coolant level, whith cap on bring it up to temp, shut it off and walk away let it cool down,This should do it,all the traped air has been purged out thru the pressure tank.
It worked for me,I tryed everything else, this worked great,My 96 dodge interpid is running cool as can be,and its been in the 100's for two weeks now here in Georgia.
