How big a job is it to replace an A/C evaporator on a 1996 dodge intrepid ES 3.5l engine with auto temp control? Can this be done from under the hood?

Not even close. the entire dash has to be removed and then the entire HVAC housing has to be removed and disassembled. DEFINITELY not for the beginner.
