Finding occasional coolant on trans axle coming from the "V" of the
intake manifold below the water inlet pipe that leads to the water pump.
Can this pipe be replaced by removing Intake Plenum, them Intake manifold?
Or can it be replaced going in from the water pump side (timing belt and water pump removal)? The Intake method seems easier but is it a valid assumption?

That is the problem. I cannot see (under intake manifold) what it takes to get to this inlet pipe to replace it. All the maintenance manuals show the pipe going into the back of the water pump. None describes the removal of the pipe itself. Hoping someone who has done it either way, from above or the side would say which way is doable. TIA

Hey Giacomo,

Yep we have seen this problem many time in the shop and the only way to replace the water pipe or O ring seal that is leaking is to remove the intake manifold.

Please let us know happens so it will help others.
