Axle wheel nut

I am replacing the front wheel bearings in a 1996 Chrysler Concord. My book tells me I must not re-use the axle nut, only install a new one. The nut is in perfect condition. I called the dealer and they do not have stock. For now I must put the original back on, maybe with some lock tight. What is the harm in using the original one if it is like new.

First no part on a 96 vehicle is like new, second, the amount of torque that nut holds is critical to insuring the wheel bearing isnt damaged by a nut that can back off it's torque setting even a little bit. Try to find a new one. The parts store you bought the bearing at should be able to supply one. Your torque rating at 120 ft lbs is low compared to most US manufacturers, but still critical.
