1996 chevy corsica with aoto on/off lightning. Why won't the parking lights shut off when the engine is turned off? The headlamps go out correctly.

The Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) Module is designed to automatically operate certain lamps depending on the outside light conditions. The DRL Module operates in two modes. when the Photoresistor senses sufficient light, the Day Mode Contacts close, causing the DRL Module to operate in Day Mode. The HI Beam Headlamps are lit at reduced brilliance but the remainder of the lamps do not operate in this mode.

When the Photoresistor senses darkness, the DRL Module operates in Night Mode. When the Night Mode contacts close, they apply voltage to the Headlamps, Marker, Park and Tail Lamps through the same circuit path as when the Headlamp Switch is in "HEAD."

If the engine should stall with the DRL Module in Night Mode, the DRL Module will turn off the Headlamps and leave the Marker, Park and Tail Lamps lit while the engine is being cranked.
