The coolant level light came on so I filled the the reservoir but the lighr remained on. I even went as far as checking to see if the thermostat was stuck. The coolant in the reservoir is getting very hot. How would I know if the water pump isn't the problem? Or what should I check next?

So this is just the light to say your coolant is low? Also your coolant is filled to to the correct level?

The coolant low light would have nothing to do with coolant not moving the sensors in the coolant bottles go bad sometimes. Try unplugging the sensor and jumping the connector and see if the light goes out? Also if your heater is working good coolant is moving.

Also at normal operating temperature if both the upper and lower radiator hoses are too hot to hold the water pump is moving coolant.
