1996 Chevrolet Camaro electrical

i bought a pair of door speakers because the passenger speaker was not working. it turns out when i connected the new speaker to the passenger side it just didnt give sound to it, so i connected both the old speaker and new speaker to my brothers car and they both work perfectly fine. all my speakers in the car work except the passenger side why is that? and also whe i connected it and tried playing music it just made a pop noise but the speaker did not pop. help please
