cadilac struts and shocks

if 1996 cadilac sevile sts rattles very bad when driving over bumps do i need to replace the shock and strut mounts? no code are present.

It is possibly the stabilizer bar links, or could be the struts themselves. Have you isolated it to the front, and either/or, or both sides? You can disconnect these links and roadtest it to see if it is still present. Sometimes though, removing the load that the stabilizer bar places on the suspension, may cause the noise to change as well.
