1996 Cadillac Deville. How do you replace the power steering pump?

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

Serpentine belt.
Power steering fluid from reservoir.
Return pipe from reservoir.
Pressure pipe from pump.
Pump mounting bolt.
Remove pump, reservoir, pulley and bracket assembly from vehicle.
Pump and reservoir from bracket.
Retaining clips that attach reservoir to pump.
Pulley from pump with special tool J 38825.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

Pulley to pump with special tool J 25033-B.

IMPORTANT

Face of pulley hub is not flush with pump drive shaft. Install pulley until an internal stop is contacted.
Do not use arbor press to install pulley.

Retaining clips that attach reservoir to pump.
Pump and reservoir to bracket. Tighten pump to bracket bolts to 24 Nm (18 ft-lb.).
Position pump, reservoir, pulley and bracket assembly into vehicle.
Pump mounting bolt to engine. Tighten pump mounting bolt to 47 Nm (35 ft-lb.).
Pressure pipe to pump. Tighten pressure pipe fitting to 27 Nm (20 ft-lb.).
Return hose to reservoir.
Serpentine belt.
Fill and bleed power steering system.
