idles rough and check engine light comes on.

speed up the gas and the engine over 1100 and it runs good and sounds good vehicle drives good but rough idles at the stop light like it is wants to stall.
i have replaced spark plugs and spark plug wires. also pcv valve. i have replaced an egr vacuum solenoid

More than likely this is a vacuum leak. Please use this guide to determine if there is a leak or not:

However, if you have a check engine light on then we have some codes to go with this issue so we need to find out what they are. Here is a guide that will help with pulling OBD 1 codes.

Not only do we need to check for a vacuum leak on the intake and surrounding components but we need to look for an intake valve issue. We could have a valve issue that acts up at times so put a gauge on it and use the chart below to determine if that is an issue.

Let us know what you find with this but I suspect we will find a vacuum leak which will solve this but let us know and we can go from there.
