1995 Toyota Landcruiser Car won't start

Car battery needed replacing so whilst replacing battery with a smaller battery used but still had charge connections that goes onto battery wouldn't reach so when he pulled connections to be placed on battery wire broke and car wouldnt start so we figured how to reconnect wire and car started and we drove it around ok for next month but one day car had no ignitition and hazards come on by themselves when battery is connected. please help.Car wont start but wire seems connected ok cant jump start and checked fuses which seem ok. Need help as have no car to drive.

put the correct battery in and fix the wire that broke should take care of it.
