1995 Nissan Truck Brake Issue

95 XE 4wd pickup brake issue.
I bought this truck and was checking the brakes and found the rear shoes needed replaced because the right side parking brake lever was froze. I loosened the lever and replaced the shoes. After adjusting them I found they still weren't working properly. I put the rear up on jack stands and found the rear brakes were barely grabbing. I took the drums off and slowly pushed the pedal and found the wheel cylinders were only moving a little bit. I opened the bleeders depressed the pedal and fluid pushed out. Is this a wheel cylinder, a proportioning valve or master cylinder issue?

They really don't move very much. Are they properly adjusted?

Yes they were properly adjusted. I went as far as adjusting them too tight and still didn't have much rear brake. Any ideas?

When you bled the brakes, did a lot of fluid come out? As far as the proportioning valve or wheel cylinders, I don't think that is the issue. I'm leaning more toward the MC.

There wasn't a large amount but I had the bleeder just cracked. It did have a solid stream of fluid but it didn't seem like it was as strong as it should be when bleeding rear brakes!

it sounds like a bad MC to me. Like anything else, I can't guarantee it, but that sounds like the issue here.

I'm glad to help. I have to be honest, I hate making recommendations without being there because it could cost you money that isn't needed to be spent. However, in this case I feel that is where the problem is coming from. I pray I'm right and haven't put you through more unneeded work.
