1995 Nissan Serena Rough Power delivery ?

Hi,

My 2L Petrol 1995 Nissan Serena power delivery when excellerating is not very smooth. Its like it gets power in little waves. Hard to explain with text really. Where should I be looking to trouble shoot this? its very frustrating to drive as the driver and passengers can feel the 'judder' as the car accellerates.

scan for codes and check fuel pressure first. we dont' have that model in u.s but a sentra is 34 psi at idle should be right around there it's 43psi with vacuum disconnected at regulator

I'm not sure how to scan for codes as far as I'm aware it doesnt have an OBD2 port?

this may be obd1 as we dont' have that model in u.s. but sentras are on left side of dash or center o f dash pic shows how to do it also location just send the code back if 2 numbers that is ok as I can look up correct one.

It definitely doesn't have OBD2 I just checked. I'm not sure what OBD1 looks like. I did find 1 white connector beneath steering column that had about 16pins.

This is my Serena it's an mpv and very different in appearance to a sentra

if it has a 16 pin connector it's OBD2 OBD1 doesnt' have 16 pins it has 12 we don't have that model in u.s so it's either one of the two that i'm sending you. the pic is where connectors are located.

Sorry I miscounted it was actually 14 pins and is to the right under the steering column. I have ordered this cable adapter so I can connect my OBD2 tool then I can let you know the codes.

ok you have the bastard year with the OBD 1.5 not many around like that. but hopefully you'll get a code to fix this.

clean the throttle plate on both sides with choke cleaner and check fuel pressure. I already asked to check fp but you haven't given a response for that. You will need a gauge for that. and maybe an adapter if no fuel rail hookup.

I will have a look at cleaning the throttle plate. I think checking the fuel pressure is beyond me though.
