My car had started to overheat and it was discovered that the radiator hose needed to be replaced. The hose has been replaced and the car was fine for about a week. Now, the car is overheating again. I checked the oil, and the color and level was normal however my coolant reservoir was empty. The oil is not milking. I only have smoke coming out of the tailpipe when the car begins to overheat. What appears to be smoke comes out of the tailpipe when I start the car on a cold morning, but that could just be steam. Any idea of what the problem may be? Also, underneath the car is completely dry so I don't think there is a leak. Btw, the car is a 1995 Mazda 626.

so you fill coolant and it's good till it gets too hot then you check coolant and it's low? if it's not leaking somewhere externally then the only other answer is internally.if a cylinder has a leak it will usually clean the spark plug so it looks diff than the rest. could be gasket or crack. you can it pressure tested to locate leak.

A small leak may evaporate off the hot engine before it hits the ground, so start with a cooling system pressure test just to prove that there are no external leaks, if one is found repair and re test.
