I have a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lerado, I just changed out the water pump due to a leak. I just got it back together and took it for a drive the car seemed to heat up to mid temp pretty quickly and also was trying to stall out a few time in jsut the drive around the block. I had to take the belt off and dont have anything to test the tension on it so was just wondering if it is maybe to tight and that is the cause for the stalling. Also wondering if the temp rising is due to air in the system still. Im not to knowledgeable on cars but figured to save a few hundred bucks id try changing it i was a jet mechanic in the AF so figured car cant be to hard. :/
Thanx in advance for any help

Burp the cooling system and see what happens-Did you disconnect the battery prior to water pump replacement?
