ehy does my alternator charge sometimes but not all

My alternator charges sometimes but dies out slowly or doesn't work at all. If I spray wd40 it it it seems to work for a bit but doesn't say working

I have a volt meter hooked up at all times as the engine temp increases the voltage goes down until I spray wd40 and start it back up

The highest is 14.3 and it gradually goes down until it won't run

you most likelt have a failed alternator. remove it and take it to a parts store and have them test it
