acts like I let off the gas

The jeep has a 318 engine. At times driving down the road the jeep acts like I let off the gas if I push the pedal further it picks up. Even at idle it runs ruff at times... No code when scanned. I have notice black soot on the ground at the exhaust sometimes... Could it be the tps going bad or what could cause this..

Thanks for your help... I will donate if you can help.. and use your services because I own a auto repair shop.. getting into engine sensor repair.. I fix auto AC for a living.

Could be caused by one of the following below

Oxygen sensor.

Catalytic converter.

Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.

Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.

Throttle position sensor.

Crankshaft position sensor

Knock sensor

Manifold absolute pressure sensor.

EGR Valve

Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.

Fuel contamination.

Foul/defective spark plugs.

Open spark plug wires.

Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.

Incorrect ignition timing.

Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing.
