I would like to know if I could put a 2001 engine in my 1995 if they are both the same make and model?

Just being the same make and model is not sufficient. They have to be the exact same engine, using the exact same operating system.
They publish an interchange book that will tell you exactly which years fit but the only people that have access to these books are the junkyards that sell used parts. I would give one a call and ask them which years fit.
I just check on this one and they didn't even have the same engine available in those years so this example is a definite no.
