I am getting a ticking/clicking sound which occurs only when I am accelerating and begins @ about 1250 RPMs. I just replaced the water pump and timing belt on the car, and I noticed shortly thereafter. I have looked around in the engine bay while the car is parked and running, but I cannot get the noise to occur unless it is moving. The car idles fine and as I stated before doesn't make the noise unless it is accelerating.

Noises requires a physical test so to diagnose it via the net is rather difficult. Unless you are specific about the noise and its occurrence, it would be impossible to assist you. It is best to get someone to check it.

Was the noise there before replacement of the parts?
What is the noise level and does it occur as long as you are accelerating?
Does revving the engine at idle produces the noise?
