1995 gmc safari no power on accelleration (well maintained)

1995 gmc safari 4.3L 2 wheel drive at. Started losing power the other night, He could only dive it home at 10 mph. I replaced the fuel pump and filter. it idles....as it did before......but at times a little rough. i dont have a code reader, i believe its odb1 and i cant find one for that vehicle. if its obd 2 i can buy one. Its my grandfaters vehicle and it 2 hours away so im just looking for some guidance. Any will be appreciated. Thanks, Bill

Check the exhaust system for restriction could be a clogged catalytic converter start here

Could be caused by one of the following below

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Knock sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing.
