what is wrong with my 95 gmc jimmy head gasket or what

i have a 95 gmc jimmy it has started overheating and i found a radiator hose was leaked and started to seperate and there was a leak in the intake...both fixed however it seems to run hot smoke out the exhaust..i have a head gasket for it and am getting ready to replace it but not sure if it will fix the problem

What do you mean by "hot smoke out of the exhaust"? If you are suggesting an engine overheating problem, then you are only looking at the coolant temperature. If you are seeing smoke, what color is it?

I mean it will run hot it had a white tint to it but doesn't do it all the time it only does on start up every so often..I flushed the radiator and got everything takin care of there with no leaks I'm aware of

My temperature gauge reads nothing which doesn't help me out much

Exactly. You're asking my why your truck is overheating when it really isn't overheating.

But I drive about 15 minutes to work and there is steam from the engine.

You may have a coolant leak somewhere causing steam and that may eventually lead to an overheating problem but right now you're looking for something else.

Pressure test the cooling system to find the leak.
