Flooding Problem

engine runs very ruff with white unburned fuel smoke coming out the exhaust, also fuel will leak out between the exhaust manifold and tailpipe connection after running for a little bit. I have ran compression test with 180 -185 each cylinder. The fuel pressure relay was changed before I got it. I changed the injectors because when the key is on the #3 cylinder will start filling with fuel like the injector was stuck open, (that did not fix the problem.) I have also put a new ECM Computer on it. The problem seems more with #3 & #1 Cylinders fouling out due to excess fuel. I have checked the wiring harness that goes along the fuel rail to the injectors and other sensors for shorts and it was ok. #2 & #4 cylinders working fine.
Also took to local Chevy Dealer they put on computer did not show any codes before starting - after starting showed a code for rich fuel. ANY Help would be appreciated

The cam sensor control the fuel injectors I would look in that area maybe a bad sensor or pick up

i kinda figured the white smoke was water or coolant or maybe sorta grayish, being oil. un-burned fuel is usually black. with a quart glass jar held at the exhaust, do you get a lot of water droplets?

No water in exhaust it is white just like when you put gas on a smoldering fire and it turns into white fumes before it ignites. Also no smell of anti freeze, Thanks for your assistance.

Just got Tracker fixed things I went thru before found problem. I replaced the Injectors, Replaced the ECM, Replaced the 02 sensor, Replaced the MAF sensor and other sensor on the air cleaner box, This was after I took to dealer and had put on computer to check for problem Computer only gave a running rich code, replaced the injector relay, checked the cam sensor in the distributor. Still same problem existed - I used a screw driver like a stethoscope and found #1 & #3 injector was not clicking like they should or like #2 & #4 was. Checked wiring harness every where I could. Ended up unbolting the motor mount on right side of engine pried it away from engine to check harness there found two wires that had insulation rubbed thru to bare wire and were grounding on the engine which kept the injector locked open and flooding the engine, oh yes they were the color coded wires that sent ground to injector #1 & #3.. I was at the calling it quits point for my expertise but hate having my butt handed to me. I want to thank everyone that tried to help and I do know that any of the recommendation could of been the problem. I hope this response will help someone else that has the same problem.

Gaskins thank you so much!!! This is exactly what my problem was. I had cylinder #3 flooding and my injector Noid light showed no pulsing just full voltage, so I did as you suggested and traced the injector harness under the intake manifold and found a short where the wire had rubbed through. Problem solved. Cost $0.00
