Will another year work for a transmission tube and dipstick?

I just replaced the transmission on a '95 ram truck,1500 3.9L,v6 (A.T.,4x2;6-239) the transmission tube and dipstick are missing. It is a discontinued part, checked the scrap yards, dealer, and part stores. No one has it. Can I use one from another year? Thanks.
