airbag sensor

got a 95 dodge ram (cummins). I took off the airbag sensor, not knowing it was a air bag sensor because i was swapping fenders. ( yes the batteries were disconnected) How do i install the sensor without air bags going off?

There's nothing you can do to set off an air bag accidentally. Just bolt the sensor on in the original location / position. You have to be above about 15 mph, either one of the front sensors must trip, AND the "safing" sensor inside the computer module must trip at the same time to pop the air bag. I never even disconnect the battery when working on these systems. Every plug you disconnect in the "squib" or "initiator" wire going up to the bag even has a shorting bar to prevent static electricity from setting it off when it is open circuited. A 9 volt transistor battery will light the bag, but you have to really work to make that happen.
