On the way to work, turning corner, oil light came on and engine quit. No problems with oil and up to today no problems, whatsoever. Replaced battery, coil pack, crank shaft position sensor and engine relay switch. Still won't start. No spark going to coil pack. Could my anti-theft security system be causing the engine not to start?

It's more common for the camshaft position sensor to fail than the crankshaft position sensor. If the Check Engine light turned on there will be at least one diagnostic fault code stored in the Engine Computer. Cycle the ignition switch from "off" to "run" three times within five seconds, then count the flashes of the light. A single flash, a short pause, two flashes, then a longer pause is code 12 which can be disregarded. The important codes flash out the same way after that longer pause. Those are the ones that will lead to the circuit or system with the problem. Code 55 will be the last one which can also be disregarded.

The check engine light never went on; but we did find the problem. It was the timing belt. It actually shredded, wound around, and melted onto the timing belt pullies. Now we are in the process of cleaning the pullies in order to put the new belt on.

I thought the 3.5L used a chain. Oh, well. Do you know if the valves were damaged? Happy to hear you found the problem.
