95 chrysler concorde grinding noise

Yup. There was a service bulletin on those bushings. Unfortunately they are not replaceable because the brackets around them are riveted. The fix is to replace the rack and pinion assembly.

A little movement is normal but it should not be causing steering wander. To stop the noise, first try spraying the bushings heavily with Silicone Spray Lube. You can find it at the Chrysler parts department and at auto parts stores. It goes on like water, then evaporates and leaves a lubricating film behind. It makes rubber parts slide over metal parts REAL easily. You can also try Chrysler's Spray White Lube but it can get kind of messy. It goes on juicy so the liquid soaks in and takes the grease with it, then the liquid evaporates and leaves the grease behind. Works great for sticking door hinges too.
