I had a 3-inch crack beside the freeze plug on the motor block. The motor is a 350 5.7 with throttle body. I poured water into the radiator and it can out the crack in a steady stream. I preceded to J.B. Weld the crack to seal it closed and stop the leak. This fixed the crack and the leak coming from the crack but when I pulled the plug in the bottom of the oil pan, a large amount of water came from the oil pan followed by sludged oil. Should I replace the lower intake gasket and head gasket even though there was a crack in the motor block? I am looking for the most inexpensive resolution to this problem. I plan to do the repairs myself although I am not a licensed or experienced automotive mechanic. Please keep this fact in mind as you respond. Thank you for your time.
