i need help with 95 monte carlo radio please

There will be two fuses, one for switched power and one for the memory circuit. The memory fuse will be tied in with some other circuit that is always on such as interior lights, horn, or possibly the cigarette lighter. Also be sure you're using the right ground wire. If you found it by using an ohm meter, you might have found the dash light or tail light wire because they will read very low resistance to ground. Most radios will work when one of those light wires is used as a ground until the lights are turned on. If the radio is also getting a ground through the antenna lead, which is always a very poor ground, the lights fuse will blow when they are turned on.

well when i plugged it back in the second time i heard like a zap and a couple sparks went aflyin! so if that makes things easier to answer please help. not to be rude but your answer lost me! i talked to some people and they said i might have grounded out the wire or something and someone said i blew a fuse. but idk where to find the fuse for the radio. i am lost!

Sparks usually mean there's a blown fuse inside the car or under the hood, but cd players draw a lot of current so if it was trying to turn on when you plugged it in there could be a spark that doesn't hurt anything. The point of my story about the memory fuse is it usually is not labeled as a memory or radio fuse. Only the switched power fuse is labeled as the radio fuse. Look for something else that doesn't work to identify which fuses to check.

so should i just take all of the fuses out and check them all? i mean i would like to know where exactly i should check!? i hope i didnt short a wire out!?

Did you check the horn? Dome lights? Cigarette lighter? Brake lights? The best way to check fuses is with a test light. There are two small holes on top where you can touch the two fuse terminals through the plastic. Turn the ignition switch to the "run" or "acc" position, then touch the test light probe to both terminals on each fuse. If it lights up on both terminals, that fuse is good. If it doesn't light up on either terminal, that circuit is turned off and isn't related to the problem. You're looking for any fuse where the test light lights up on one terminal but not the other one. That means it is blown.
