I have a 1995 chevrolet c2500 pickup. I wired a trailer recently and once done, turn signal no longer works on truck. Hazards work on truck and trailer, lights and brake and reverse on truck but no turn signal. I replaced the flasher but no luck. Flasher does not even click!! I checked fuses I think.

It could be defective flasher here is its location to make sure you are changing the right one also here are the blinker wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works as well.

I tried 3 different new turn signal flashers, hazards work fine!. Note that when I say I wired a trailer, the truck already had a four prong trailer plug on it so I did not wire the truck, just wired trailer lights on a trailer and connected 4 prong to the truck existing 4 prong.

I disconnected trailer wiring and fuses seem good. Again, hazards work, reverse and brake lights work. If I press down hard on hazard light button and hold, turn signal flasher clicks!! and not sure why since there is a seperate hazard flasher and turn signal flasher

Check for voltage coming into turn signal switch purple wire(12volt), if ok activate turn signal, looking for voltage coming out of turn signal switch on either light blue or yellow (left signal). or dark green/dark blue(right signal). If you have voltage on purple wire and nothing coming out on the mentioned wires, suspect turn sig. switch

check your fuses in the ip panel like #7 for the power outlets and also maxi fuse 7 for the wiper and power outlet in the underhood fuse box. there is also a circuit breaker or should be in teh ip fuse box for the power outlet. check fuse 16 in ip box for turn signals then try replacing the flasher behind the centrof the i/p Also ther eis a stoplamp relay underhood l/r center of engine. check all your grounds on ip to make sure they are tight and clean. same thing with engine and body grounds.

My left side rear turn signal and brake light are not working. When I try to use the signal, the inside arrow blinks very fast. The front left turn signal works fine. We changed the bulb and the fuse is fine.

Do both indicators work on the dash when using the emergency flashers?

If it's the same story, your bulb in the dash may be blown or maybe is not making a good connection

heres whats doing on. I have an erradic oil guage. I replaced the sending unit. still erradic. tried a used cluster still the same. before trying any thing the signals and emerg. flashers were working. now my daylight running lights don't work at all either. its seems like the lights that are supposed to work are all going wacky one by one, is there some kind of module that powers all the lights that could be going bad?

1995 Chevy Cheyenne

Problem is on rear driver turn/brake lamp. Same filament in bulb for both. After a year, buld burned out. Replaced it, and a day later it burned out. Same time frame for third replaced bulb. Relay is good. Fuse is good. No moisture in lamp case or connector. Assuming it is not brake switch on brake pedal because the othe side works fine. Wiring is good, at least to where it joins the otherside, in which case it is wrapped and has black plastic wireway to from the back to the dash. If it is a short(which I now assume) have any ideas on where? Anyone with a similar problem? I am hesitant to tear out all the wiring, northeast ohio is cold and sleety right now! Thanks.

Hi:
Are you sure the socket is good? When the bulb goes bad, have you checked it for continunity to make sure it was truly bad? Keep in mind, they are 12 volt bulbs and that is all that is generated unless the voltage regulator is bad and you getting an overcharge. In that case, it would do more than one bulb.

Let me know what you find with the socket and the continuity test.

Joe,

it actually turned out to be the PCB board. I took this out of the housing and with the lights set to on I applied pressure to the circuit traces(which were not exposed to skin so no electrocution!) when I did this I got a connection. turns out the traces burned out so I soldered up the gap and has worked fine since.

Thanks!

I have a 97 chevy Cheyenne. The problem I am having is that when I am driving my signal relay is clicking like I have the signal on when I don't. The clicking stops when I push on the brakes and then comes on again when I release the brakes. I thought it was the relay, so I replaced this and the problem is still there. All the lights are operational as well. Can anyone help?
