1995 Chevy Beretta, 3.1 V6. When the car first starts up it, it idles to 4000rpms and wont budge.. Tried putting the gas to the floor to break it, didnt help.Shifted from park to reverse to drive, to knock it down to 2.5rpms. But once back in park or nuetral it idles back up to 4rpms.. I checked throttle cables, they are all fine. Nothing is stuck. I am guessing it may have something to do with a vacuum hose? Also causes the anti-freeze to ooze out of the resovouir.

The idle speed would have nothing to do with with the coolant leak. You are on the right track looking for a vacuum leak somewhere. It's getting unmetered air in there from somewhere.

Well I checked all vacuum hoses, they all seem to be connected and working fine. I guess its just a guess and check method from here on. Thank you for replying though.

I said vacuum leak, not vacuum hoses. Thos leak could be anywhere including gaskets, EGR or brake booster
