1995 Chevy astro van starts up and backfires

So I have to start it up again then it runs but when I accelarate it stutters and stalls. I have no exsaust and no mffler and a piece of my catalytic converter is broken off inside there wouldnt start so I replaced the spark plugs and about after a week the engine started stugttering and stalling.

Under the drivers side of the dash there is a obd1 connecter. With a paper clip jump term a and b together turn the key on not run and count the engine light flash codes.
