The trunk pull down motor assembly just started malfunctioning. The motor runs and lowers the trunk lid but it does not stop. The motor sound changes and continues to click, like a gear is slipping maybe, but it does not turn off. The unlock feature works fine. The switch in the trunk lid will make the loop raise and lower but it does not stop. I forgot to check if the rocker switch on the body will stop it without the trunk lid in place. I have adjusted the loop to a half way point and unplugged the motor so I can drive the car. Is this a motor, or a switch problem? I called a Cadillac dealer and the service writer's only suggestion was to bring it in for a tech to look at it. Give the man a raise. LOL
