95 deville low oil pressure

i have a 95 cadillac devile i went on a trip from ma to va once i got there the low oil pressure warning stop engine warning went on and started to make a rithmatic ticking sound when i come to a stop would that be the oil pump?

Was engine oil level, full? Yes, it could be the oil pump? I wouldn't drive it till you find out the issue.

i had to drive it home but the oil level was full how much roughly would it be to fix the problem or would it be time to look for a new car

Just to add on this -It depends on your present mileage for a new car-you need to have the oil pressure read this will tell you if you need a new car or bottom end work-try changing to a thicker oil and replace the filter and see what happens-again do not drive it as suggested

your ride home just cost you a engine.when a car breaks just have it towed its a lot cheeper.
