ignition and alternator.

my ignition sometimes doesnt turn when i put in the key...but it eventually does....and i recently had my alternator and my battery go out..so are these signs that this car might not make it?

well sometimes the key wont turn..it starts always..but it sometimes gets stuck..i think it might be the steering wheel locking or something but im not sure...but my major concern which i just remembered is that once every couple months or so...ill make a stop at a light or a stop sign and when i go to accellerate and press the pedal the car doesnt move and theres no power at all..but if i press the pedal a second time..it goes...whats going on with it?
