I was trying to clean the mass air flow device but when I removed the two phillips head screws the unit would not come out, so I pushed it back in. The unit seemed to be spring loaded. Now my car won't start, but it cranks. Could I have blow a fuse? How do you correctly remove and clean the mass air flow sensor on a 1994 Landcruiser? And how do I get my car to start?

Thanks,

Gary

There are electrical connections that have to be dis-connected. That may be what is holding your MAF in. As far as cleaning it, you can actually keep it in place and by some MAF sensor cleaner at Advance Auto or Auto Zone. You don't want to touch the wires that cross the inside of the MAF. It is much easier to get the cleaner and leave it in place.
As far as getting your car started I am giving you a walk through diagnostic that goes through the most common no start issues. Just use the link below;
