how does the back up switch acuator work on a suzuki sidekick

back up switch is working , but the ball bearing does NOT move up or down in the transmission case (Maual Transmission)

When the transsmission is put into reverese the shifter switch actually completes the circuit. I am attaching the wiring diagram for the back up lights.
