1994 SATURN SL2

would a bad torque converter be the problem why a 94 saturn sl2 will not go over 5mph, and not shift into 2nd? or could it be a bad module. or is there something wrong with the tranny itself.

This should be checked first hand by a tech with good auto trans experience, i feel that there is an internal fault it sounds like a pressure related problem, to many variables to second guess this really needs to be checked first hand.
