So then for my 1994 Transport engine light/fuel pump issue...the fuel pressure running should be 41-47psi...but what should the dead pressure be? The same? I do notice if I turn the engine on right away, the "check engine" light will often come on, and the engine chugs a bit. But, if I turn the key on and wait a sec for the fuel relay to run then quit like it's supposed to, I rarely get the check engine light, and the engine runs smooth. So again, does it sound likely the fuel pump is going out?

I don't the dead head pressure-however if you pinch off the return line it should double the pressure at normal operating pressure at idle speed-if not could be the fuel pump, fuel filter, in-tank sock,and blocked fuel line-

For the 3.8, 41--47 psi, key on engine off, no crank. Engine running, that spec will drop about 10 psi, because engine vacuum comes into play at the pressure regulator.

Razmataz is correct, that deadhead pressure test, is a different issue. I hope your not confused?
