how do you fix a door that won't close on a 1994 nissan p/u that won't close

Make sure the latch is open so it can lock when you close the door.

The latch is open. I tried moving it back with a screwdriver while holding the door handle up, no luck. I looked at the other door and I pulled the latch back, it clicks and stays in place till you open the door handle. The other door latch will not click back and stay in that position.

you will have to remove the door panel and insp. the latch and linkages.poss. bad lock assy.
