It takes time to start engine on my 1994 Mitsubishi Pajero Exceed 2.8 Engine M40 turbo automatic transmission. When engine starts, a black smoke is emitted from the exhaust. The engine oil and steering fluid always dry up in a few days. The vehicle has been off the road due the problems as listed here.

After a long cranking tme to get the engine started, excessive fuel would get to the cylinders and upon starting, a lot of black smoke would be emitted.

The loss of engine oil could be due to leakages and the difficult starting indicates loss of compression to the cylinders, meaning the rings are worn.

The engine is due for a rebuild.

Loss of power steering fluids should be due to leakages. You need to check where the fluids are leaking. Most common fault for this vehilce would be the power steering pump and the high pressure hose.
