1994 Mitsubishi Express ECU Info

Hi there, don't be fooled by the mileage, had a new engine fitted about 60000k ago. my question is: Do i need to have the ECU in this vehicles reprogrammed by a Mitsubishi Dealer or some other tech with the appropriate gadget as i have had the battery disconnected for repairs due to error codes, but the error codes that were coming up before i disconnected the battery are still there after fixing faults, testing and reconnecting? The ecu in this vehicle is of the old style i believe....MUT II, any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Engine Computer runs tests, detects problems, then sets diagnostic fault codes to direct you to the circuit or system that needs further diagnosis. It's doing what it's supposed to do so there's no reason to replace it. When fault codes come back it's because it wasn't diagnosed right the first time. Many people think those codes tell you to replace parts but that is not true. A code can be set as a result of a bad sensor, a corroded or stretched terminal in an electrical connector, a corroded splice, bare wire, and things like that.
