Car Shaking Badly

i have a mercury grand marquis and my car shakes everytime i hit 45mph or higher. An i have alot of pressure in my gas tank. While i am driving it also smells like gas fuel and burning plastic. What could this be?

describe the shaking? and when you say pressure, do you actually mean suction/vacuum? you may have a fuel leak, and maybe something got caught up in your catalytic converter and burns when you drive it?

By the shakin it feels like there is a loose tire but thats not what it is .. and the pressure sounds like a leaking tire ....

can you feel shake in steering wheel? and i assume the pressure you are referring to is when you open gas cap?
