1994 Ford Cougar spark plug replacement

Car seems to surge,hesitate, and shake while trying to accelerate. I was told that number 5 spark plug is bad and that one of the oxygen sensors could possibly be bad as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try replacing the plug to see if that helps. Also, make sure it is getting spark to it. If it is and the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned to identify trouble codes. As far as the O2 sensor, it should set a check engine light.
