why does my 1994 e320 mercedes benz wagon idle high and does not idle down...

car starts rite up but idles high and when i take off and pres on the gas pedal it wants to dye out...

Check for vacuum leaks, check idle air control valve, check throttle position sensor. NOTE: If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it for free.
