C280 AC/Heater vents

I have a 1994 c280 that I had serviced for AC. The cold air comes out of the center vent but, hot air is coming out from the left (driver side) vent. The mechanic says the whole dash needs to come out and could be expensive. Is this true?

Yes, it is true. because all Deverter Doors are located unter the dashboard.
Did you recently replace Evaporator core or Heater core? If you did, you should bring the vehicle back to the same shop and have them correct the problems.
Do you need the heating?
If you don't the heating you can bypass the heater hoses or shut off the heater valve.
