steering rack is shot

my car has needs a steering rack but i do not want to put any more money into it. what is the best way to sell the car? I was told by a mechanic that the rack would be about $1,000. would you recommend repairing the car or selling it?

what is the problem you are having? if you are concerned about he expenses now and later maybe better to part with car.

if the car is drive-able it should sell ok even if a repair is needed.
