appears shift cable broke or wont shift locked in reverse after shutting it off wont restart

car is unmoveable and won't start . shift lever moves freely as if its unattached to shift cable

we really don't have much info for that, you'll have to take the console apart and look in there to see if it's broke or not. it sounds as if it is though.
