I have a 1994 hyundai scoupe and the computer was burnt out so I replaced it and now it has quit firing what could be the problem

Do you know what caused the ECU to fail in the first place? is there a problem that has damaged the new unit that has not be looked into? you should try and find out what section of the old ecu failed and check that out first.
