jerks in gear?

when i shift my 94 geo tracker into reverse it jerks very bad but in any other gear it is fine why?

Check the transmission fluid level and condition if okay-have it pressure tested by a tranmission specialist to find out more what's going on-

could be a broken accumulator spring in the valve body. it needs to be verified by a trans shop to confirm.
